Meet the team

Mike Shepherd
The Marine Advertising Agency is headed up by Mike Shepherd. Previously employed as the ad manager across IPC`s Yachting Monthly and Practical Boat Owner, Mike more recently held the position of Account Director (Marine) at Ten Alps RMA, winning several new marine accounts for the agency.
As a keen sailor and motor boater he also has previous experience working for chandleries and also for Sunsail as a sailing instructor. Additionally, he has completed a full circumnavigation as watch leader on Liverpool Clipper, in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race in 2002/03.
Mike has competed at national and international level in dinghies and keelboats and currently races a Laser from Stokes Bay SC.

Steve Ward
The design side of MAA is led by Steve Ward who has over a decade of studio experience. He has worked full time as a designer/artworker for successful below-the-line direct marketing agencies and above-the-line advertising agencies; as well as working as a freelance designer/artworker for various companies.
He has significant experience with online media and has completed work in Flash and HTML.
After graduating from Loughborough College of Art and Design and UCE, Steve started his career in publishing, before moving into the agency world.

Anna Wardley
Anna Wardley is an experienced and respected communications consultant with expertise in international events, sports & marine PR, sponsorship activation and crisis management. Previously Head of Communications at Clipper Ventures Plc, she has a proven track record for delivering successful high-profile campaigns for clients spanning the public, private and voluntary sectors.
With a background in journalism, she started her career as an economics correspondent for an international news agency in London and New York and continues to write for a range of titles both in the UK and overseas.
Anna took a sabbatical to complete the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race in 2002-03 and since 2009 has completed a series of solo open water swims including the English Channel and the Gibraltar Straits raising in excess of £35,000 for a number of charities in the process.
